Insructions

Welcome to the Instructions page. Here you will find all the information you need to get started with our templates.

Introduction:

The Photography template has been built off the Client-First system from Finsweet. You can learn more here: https://finsweet.com/client-first

This template was built by ForgeFlow using over 10 years of Webflow experience in making hundreds of client websites.

This website is a free website that is easy to adjust without the need for CMS or ecommerce.

Instructions:

First Steps:

Prior to starting, please remember to:

  1. Remove the Stylesheet, Instructions and Change Log Links from the footer.
  2. Add a 301 redirect from the Style Guide, Instructions and Change Log page to your home page (ie, "/style-guide" to "/") in order to avoid 404 errors.
  3. After you update the home page, copy the "page-wrapper" and past it into the 404 page, then change the H1 to indicate that the user has gone to a page that does not exist.
  4. Update the Terms, Conditions and Privacy page with your own content. Information in this page is placeholder only and is not legally appropriate.
  5. Please don't forget to update the SEO settings in each page to reflect your content.

Stylesheet

The Stylesheet has ever main class in it and each element across the site has no more than 2 combo classes.

The stylesheet follows the Client-First methodology and can be used as a dashboard to change all typography, colours and spacing across the site. It is recommended to still complete proper testing and do full reviews of your site prior to going live.

Photos & Images

Photos across the site are split into 2 types:

  1. Image Elements
  2. Div Backgrounds

The image elements are used when the the ration settings fit the use cases for the photo, supporting the element. Otherwise, a div block is used with spacing and size settings. the image is then a background to that div block. In this case, the image can be changed in the Backgrounds section > Image and Backgrounds. Please feel free to use all the settings there to cater the outcome to best fit your needs.

Please replace all images prior to making your site live.

Projects

In the Pages draw, there is a folder called Projects. There is one project in there when you clone this template. To avoid the need to use CMS, the projects are additional pages in this folder.

How to add projects:

  1. Copy a page in the projects folder
  2. Customise it to meet your needs.
  3. In the Portfolio page, add or update a tile to represent the project. Duplicate the tile if needed.
  4. Update the 3 links in the tile, the image, the title and the button, directing them all to the relative project page you just created.
